The Furano and Kitanomine ski resort offer six different mountain dining options for skiers/boarders. In addition a plethora of restaurants are within close walking distance of both the Furano Ropeway and the Kitanomine Gondola station. The cuisine ranges from traditional Japanese to western style and is all very reasonably priced. A main meal costs around 800-1200 yen per person. Guests staying with Fresh Powder are treated to the opulence of skiing to the Kitanomine Gondola station, walking 30 metres to the apartments and eating in the comfort of your own luxury apartment.

Kitanomine Ski Area

Shele

This diner come restaurant can be found on the first floor of the Kitanomine Gondola station. The restaurant features large bench seats with good sized tables to spread out on. Even better are the shelves immediately adjacent to the tables that are ideal for placing ski gloves, balaclavas, helmets etc to dry whilst you eat lunch. A vending machine offers cold beers and soft drinks to quench your thirst. Both the Shele rand Shi Shi restaurant are within metres of Fresh Powder Apartments.

Shi Shi Chinese Restaurant

Located on the third floor of the Kitanomine Gondola Station, Shi Shi offers Chinese food with a Japanese influence. A ticket machine system is located inside the restaurant where diners can choose their dish, pay their money and then take the receipt to the counter for their meal. Favoured dishes from this restaurant are curried pork, spicy cabbage and ramen noodles (for a touch of Japanese).

Azelia

The original Furano Prince Hotel can be found in the woods to skiers right of the Kitanomine ski area. The hotel is ski in and ski out from the Forest C or Training B ski runs. The location of the Old Prince Hotel makes the restaurant a perfect to stop for lunch. Azelia offers a wide variety of foods from authentic Japanese cuisine to Italian style pasta. Perhaps the prices are a little more expensive than other restaurants located on the mountain but the good service makes up for it.

Furano Ski Area

Ramen Corner

Immediately adjacent to the Furano Ropeway entrance on the right hand side is Ramen Corner. As you may guess from the name Ramen Corner serves Ramen soup. This Japanese delicacy can be ordered in numerous flavours with a multitude of toppings and extras. In addition the restaurant also offers traditional Chinese style pork buns and Japanese style bean buns. Ramen is ideal to warm you up after a morning of skiing. We recommend eating here at least once during your stay in Furano.

Nishiki

Nishiki is the Chinese restaurant located on the Furano side of the ski resort. Located upstairs from Ramen Corner on the second floor the restaurant offers a selection of delicious Chinese style food. As with all the restaurants in the resort, guests can purchase their meal from a ticket machine and present it to the kitchen staff for cooking. The second floor elevation of the restaurant features a beautiful view up the slopes towards the peak of the Furano ski resort.

Downhill

Ironically the Downhill restaurant is located almost at the peak of the Furano Ski resort on skiers left of the Furano Ropeway adjacent to the top of the Pair Romance lift. The restaurant is housed in a swiss style chalet featuring beautiful views of the ski slopes. The open heart log fire in the centre of the restaurant adds a peaceful ambience to the lodge. The menu in Downhill features sandwiches, white curry, pasta and an assortment of western style dishes.

The Bakery- Pun Kobo

For those of you that crave a good coffee and croissant, the Pan Kobo Bakery is the place to start. Located at the lower side of the Furano New Prince Hotel, facing Ninguru terrace, guests are treated to a tranquil view of the lower valley and forest. The Bakery offers a large selection of baked breads, bread sticks and muffins, and is open until 6:00 pm offering guests the option to pick up a loaf of bread after a day on the slopes, perfect for the next day's breakfast.

Top of Furano (New Prince Hotel 12F Bar)

The bar on the top floor of the New Furano Prince Hotel features floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering breathtaking views of the Furano Ski Resort and surrounding mountains. The bar offers a full selection of wine, beer, and spirits, including their own original cocktails. The New Prince Hotel offers a "Nomihodai", all-you-can-drink plan, for two hours in the evening… a perfect venue for an après-ski drink with friends.
