Overall Job Scope:

• To manage Niseko Fresh Powder Apartments (NFP) for the winter season 2008/2009. The position is ideally suited to an individual or couple.
• Clean and maintain the apartments to a five-star standard. Arrange/supervise additional staff to complete this task.
• Provide daily manual snow clearing around the building. Work with the snow clearing company on the major snow clearing contract.
• To provide guests with a satisfying luxury holiday through excellence in customer service by assisting guests with all their needs and requests and when required liaise closely with tour operators.
• To independently manage all aspects of the daily business and to provided regular updates and formal reports to the GM.
• Promote and uphold a positive image of Niseko Fresh Powder Apartments with guests, other businesses and locals in the Niseko region.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report directly to the General Manager of Japan Fresh Powder.
• Provide ideas on improving the operation and overall product provided by NFP.  Provide regular weekly summary reports to the GM.
• Collate, record and enter all receipts/expenses/documents relating to the financial matters of the business into accounting spreadsheets and provide reports to the GM.
• Manage the business bank account and scrutinize all incomings and outgoings. Manage and document a petty cash account. 
• Enthusiastically welcome guests to the apartments and ensuring they experience an enjoyable stay. This may include driving guests to the apartments, assisting with luggage and ski gear, giving detailed briefings on the use of the apartments and transport attractions.
• Provide advice on the local area, Ski Mountain & restaurants, making travel arrangements to and from Niseko-Hirafu, obtaining lift passes & ski gear and organizing lessons as required.
• Maintain the apartments to a luxurious standard. Arrange and monitor cleaning of apartments, arrange and assist in snow clearing. On days where changeovers are required, it is expected that the manager will begin early around 8 am to ensure the rooms are cleaned as soon as possible.
• Ensure the office area is meticulously clean at all times.
• Maintain a detailed inventory of all stock/linen.
• Complete rubbish removal. Ensure gas and oil levels are sufficient. Arrange for servicing of faulty equipment.
• Provide 24-hour emergency assistance to guests, assisting with medical problems and any major problems that may arise.
• Continue to maintain and develop close working relationships with the local tour operators, surrounding accommodation owners, retail owners and the local population in Niseko-Hirafu.
• Arrangement of taxi service and transport for guests.
• The use of the company motor vehicle is a requirement for this job. Limited personal use in Niseko-Hirafu permitted.

Requirements:

• Must have good spoken Japanese and English.
• Must be friendly with an outgoing personality. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be proactive, reliable and able to work unsupervised. 
• Must be reasonably fit and possess basic building maintenance skills.
• Ideally you will have the ability to ski or snowboard at a reasonable level.
• Must possess an international or Japanese driving licence, and have snow driving experience.
• Must have a valid Japanese working permit (working holiday visas are acceptable).
• Preferably you will have previous experience in the hospitality industry and/or previous management experience.
