During winter four bus companies operate regular direct services from Sapporo New Chitose Airport (CTS) to Niseko Hirafu Ski Resort. Most operators staff a service desk at the arrivals level of Chitose Airport, with English speaking ambassadors on hand to assist you. From here the staff will escort you to a waiting area before guiding you onto the bus. The journey to Niseko Hirafu takes around 3 hours, with a refreshment stop about half way along the journey. Although several of the services travel directly to Niseko Hirafu most operate via the resort of Rusutsu along the way. For guests travelling to Niseko Fresh Powder please advise the bus driver that you need to get off at the Niseko Hirafu bus stop.

Most buses from Sapporo depart from the Sapporo JR train station. The two main companies operating services from Sapporo are the Chuo Bus Company and the Donan Bus Company. Typically the buses are large, modern coaches with comfortable seats. We strongly recommend purchasing food and drink prior to the trip as the travel time can be up to three and a half hours. In addition it is definitely worth making a toilet stop just prior to boarding. The frequency and routes for the service are reduced significantly over the summer period making it an unsuitable transport method. As with the Chitose service guests for Niseko Fresh Powder should disembark at the Hirafu bus stop.

For guests staying at Fresh Powder we recommend pre-booking your bus transfers well in advance. During winter the services book very quickly and getting a seat can be difficult.
