With the recent explosion of guests to Hirafu the resort has been busy upgrading its services to cater for Families with younger children. The best beginner slopes can be found at the very eastern side of the upper village, adjacent to the Alpen hotel. Most ski schools choose this trail for basic and beginner lessons. Niseko Hirafu now boasts no less than five ski schools who employ English speaking staff and cater specifically for children. Of these providers we recommend the very professional NISS Tic Tac club and Yuki explorers club. Both are ideal for children learning how to ski on the slopes and having fun at the same time. For a fun afternoon the Niseko Village complex located at the gondola base of Higashiyama offers a fantastic indoor and outdoor kid’s facility. So you have plenty of options, whether you are planning on teaching the kids or you want to explore a little knowing the kids are in good hands.

NISS is one of Japan's newest and most creative Snow sport’s School that has a progressive kids and youth program and backed by an international team of expert NISS instructors. For the 3-6 year olds, Tictac kids will be thrilled with the ease of learning on our magic carpet and indoor facility that is situated directly adjacent our protected learning slopes. In addition, NISS has a fun filled and innovative terrain park to suit skiers and boarders. For older children the Yuki skier and boarder workshop allows children to explore the mountain, ride the terrain park and enjoy fantastic snow under expert guidance and supervision. Located in Shi Shi restaurant at the base of the Higashiyama Gondola station “Niseko Kids” opened in 2007 as an Indoor and Outdoor all-day care and snow school centre for children ages 18 months to 12 years. This program is excellent offers bilingual skiing lessons for juniors and children on a moving magic carpet, a generous indoor play room stocked with ample toys and a private shuttle pick up and drop off from several select locations, The resort employees qualified child minding staff and parents can arrange in advance the type of program they wish their child to partake in. Hirafu kids is situated in the Yama Shizen apartment complex in the upper Hirafu village. The professional child minding centre operates from 08:00am to 04:00pm most days and includes lunch. The centre caters for children from 18 months to 6 years of age and is reasonably priced at 12,000 a day. The price reduces slightly to 10,000 a day for subsequent sessions.
