At Fresh Powder, being young parents ourselves, we recognize the importance of taking children on holidays. We actively encourage and welcome children to our apartments. It is a very rewarding experience to see the joy a child gets spending a few weeks in the snow. So if you are planning a holiday to stay with us please feel free to make it a family holiday. The apartments stock high chairs, baby cots and baby friendly baths. The Hirafu village has also begun catering very well for families and younger children. Several adventure companies operate tours geared specifically for young ones and several child minding facilities have spawned in the area. Please read below for more information.

Hirafu kids is situated in the Yama Shizen apartment complex in the upper Hirafu village. The professional child minding centre operates from 08:00am to 04:00pm most days and includes lunch. The centre caters for children from 18 months to 6 years of age and is reasonably priced at 12,000 a day. The price reduces slightly to 10,000 a day for subsequent sessions. Fancy a dip in the heated pool to warm up. The Alpen hotel complex is fitted with a 22 metre pool that is great for getting the kids into the water. Or you may wish to take the kids on a snow raft ride or banana boat trip around an obstacle course. Even better jump on a mini snow mobile and watch your children get hours of enjoyment riding around a safely designed snow course. Perhaps taking the kids on a back country snow shoe tour to sigh some fauna with a cup of hot chocolate, some marshmallows and candy may be your thing.
