Niseko and nearby Kutchan boast a good number of food, clothes and ski wear shops. ATM access can be limited so we recommend bringing ample Japanese Yen.

Located on the main street of Niseko Hirafu are two convenience stores. The Seicomart is situated near the main traffic lights in town whilst the newer Lawsons convenience store is a three minute walk down the road from Fresh Powder. Although the Seicomart store stocks a larger selection of products the lines in winter to the check out can be long, whilst the Lawsons store tends to be less crowded. All basic food products can be found in the convenience store including eggs, milk, butter, bread, juice, breakfast cereal, fruit, alcohol along with a plethora of fast food and an assortment of chocolate bars.

Niseko Hirafu does not have any large style supermarkets; however the nearby township of Kutchan features several large grocery stores including the Mega size, Maxvalu. Kutchan can be easily reached by the local bus or via a taxi. For guests staying with Fresh powder we offer a complimentary shopping trip twice a week to the Maxvalu store in Kutchan to allow guests to stock the fridge. The store is a true supermarket with a huge array of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood and many consumer products that can be found in western supermarkets. Over the past few years the store has even added Australian wines and food to cater for the large demand.

Several stores operate in Niseko that stock a good range of ski wear and snow clothing. Of these perhaps Fusion is Niseko’s premier retail store. Its breadth of product has something for everyone, a stylistic fusion where both Japanese and international design come together to deliver an innovative range of products. Offering a complete selection of the latest high tech snow fashions for men and women through to Niseko branded product that you can take home as a memento. Fusion has grown in size to offer an even more spacious shopping experience and a direct access through to the new Demo equipment facility. Fusion opens December 1st 2007 and winter hours are from 8.30am to 8.30pm.

The nearest ATM to Fresh Powder in Niseko is located in the Seicomart convenience store, however this does not accept many overseas debit/credit cards. Guests can access the international ATM machine, located in the Kutchan post office by catching the local shuttle bus. A word of warning! There are two ATM machines in the post office and only one accepts international cards, in addition access to the ATM machines is limited to weekdays up until 6pm at night and Saturdays in the morning. Upon arrival at Chitose International airports guests can also access money from the ATM located on the arrivals floor of the airport.
